The Cosby car was CSX 3303. After its wreck, it went to a scrapyard and its engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, etc. were used in the construction of a hot rod. The bare chassis was later sold to a Cobra specialist who sold the VIN to Brian Angliss of Autokraft in the UK. Replicas make a lot of sense. And I think most people are fine with them. But I like knowing what it is I'm looking at. If you have built up a Datsun 280Z with fiberglass panels and major modifications, don't tell me I'm seeing a "1962 Ferrari GTO." And if your fastback 2+2 Mustang 6-cylinder now has white paint, blue stripes, and mag wheels, please don't claim it's a "1965 Shelby GT 350."
