My advise: any car 20 years or older should be investigated as to what troubles that particular model encountered over the years and some spares should be carried on trips especially the parts that are known wto be subject to frequent failure but more so parts that might fail but are not stocked every where of course one cannot have everything that might go wrong but some things are good to have good example: on 30s 40s and 50s cars fuelpumps would often fail ( They were well made but the diaphragm material would just give out) and it was common to carry a spare Fuel pump ( and a few tools) ... I had a LeBra on my 88 Mustang GT - and I agree with your assessment!    A friend had a "Car Phoney" complete with the fake antenna.  It was so real that I once picked up the handset to make a call.   I hope that some day in the near future, the 'donk' dies. I have an 85 Monte Carlo, and I see a lot of G-bodies in my area that are riding on 24 or 26 inch rims and they look like jacked up trucks.  To each their own, but those are horrendous looking IMHO. ... Was always a Car Crazy Kid, right through to today...   Was hooked on the 1/24th and 1/25th size, and got into Slot Cars of the same scale, though it was easier to race the Aurora HO  1/64ths at home, 'cuz the Slot Track were monopolized by the Big Kids...   By the time I could really afford to indulge my cravings, however, I was wrenching with the above-referenced Big Kids on Real Cars, and because I 'knew stuff' I was allowed to hang around, 'cuz I would rather do that than play with 'Toys' like the Babies.  Soooo, I stored those kits I couldn't live without in a box in the attic, to maintain my Hangin' Out with the Big Kids Image.  NOW, I have over 50 un-built kits from AMT, Revell, MPC, Jo-Han, and Others; Whoo-Hoo!   Your next Article can be on Hot Wheels... Got a happy place in my heart for my 92 525iT. I was amazed at the double sunroof; it was a lifesaver after carrying three dogs on a 2K journey (hint : dogs smell). Opened the 'rear' sunroof and all was well. Only gripe was the GM slushbox; have a 99 528iT now with a proper gearbox. ... View more
