I had an '88 Supra a couple years ago. I really liked that car, but then the head gasket blew. That was the end of that love affair. $1800.00 to $2300.00 to repair it was just not in my budget. Thankfully I found someone from Mass. to take it and give it new life from the ground up. Not that it needed much as the body was solid as the day it came of the assembly line. I'm going to miss that car.

To "PHASE OUT" gasoline and diesel is something that the left have been planning for years. The idea here is to deny the working class, us, everything that we hold dear. It's all about control folks. It's all about control. There's a bumper sticker I would see on the back of the Clinton supporters vehicles. It was one world in protest of the Trump administration. "RESIST!" I think it is time "We the People" turn that around.

Should these five classic nameplates deserve a come back as EV's? In a word, NO! I'm going to be blunt about this. Electric Vehicles don't do anything more for the "environment" then a fossil fuel vehicle. In fact, it will do more damage. So let's stop with the "EV" agenda crap, because those of us who know, know this has nothing, ABSOLUTELT NOTHING, to do with saving the word. And those of you who wish to condemn me for saying this, please, have at it.

Much like the Buick Riviera's of that era, the Old's Toronado was a custom strait out of the Oldsmobile factory. It would take very little to dress these cars up. Case in point. look at the fender flares front and back. Very easy to put some cool wider tread tires on there with either custom wheels or simply widening the stock steelies.

Hands down, one of my favorite sports cars of all times. Ever since I first saw it way back in '69-'70 on the TV program, "The Prisoner" with Patrick McGoohan, I've always wanted one. Yes I know that one was a Lotus 7, but it's still "THE CAR" that I wished for. Alas, they are always out of my budget to own one. But I still can dream. 🙂

Does anyone see the bull**bleep** here of the whole "clean air" carp, and the billions of dollars spent of our tax money on a band aid that doesn't work, and the unintended consequences that this bill has cost us? Things are so bad now that people are destroying our cars just to get the STUPID cat converter. Now we, the tax payers and hard workers have to pay even more for something that was, in my view, never needed. I'm sorry if this offends. Remember, it's just my opinion.

Still talking electric guys? Not a good idea folks. Nope. Let's take this future scenario for one. We have a city with a population of four hundred thousand people. Two hundred and seventy five thousand have electric cars. Evening comes, and it was a hot day out. People are running there A/C's. Now roughly half those people with their electric cars need to plug in and charge their vehicles. And between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. they "Plug In". Uh-ho, what happened to the A/C? why are all the lights out? I cook on my electric stove. Get the picture.

I must say 1969 full sized sedans of all the American makes were stunning sculptures of moving road art. As we look at the beautifully laid out lines of this Toronado from the Oldsmobile division we can see the Mitchell influence that was omni present in the GM design rooms. Simply beautiful and elegant. I really miss that creative design. Our cars all had a face and a personality then. Not like today.

I know Pontiac had the GP's, and Chevy the Laguna S3, but I forgot about Buick's GS. Olds had the 442, the closes thing Cadillac had that matched the style of its other brethren from what I can see, for '73, is the Eldorado Coupe'. That was a heavy beast. They all had very angular lines to them back then. MPG and aerodynamics? What's that? Guess that's why I like them so much. They made a statement.
