Nice truck and GREAT story ! .   What makes this a 'Farm: bumper instead of a 'Step Bumper' is : the tailgate can dropped straight down for unloading without damaging / bending it on the bumper .   I have a 1969 C/10 farm truck from TEXAS that has a very similar rear bumper, different dealer name and town .   My truck is still powered by the 250 C.I.D.
