I think many of the others have expressed the "I just don't get it" attitude. And I agree with them. EV's are 'supposed' to help save the environment from the evils of 'too much CO2'. And yet, not one of the promoters of EV's supports nuclear power. You can't get enough from solar, so that leaves us coal, natural gas and hydro to generate electricity. I'm a fly fisherman. That means I like water, and I don't like wasting it--like letting it run out of dams just so Ms Green can go to the market in her oh-so-pc EV. And I haven't even mentioned the problems with pollution relative to making and recycling batteries, and our overall lagging battery technology. Jeff, you forgot the most important thing about back up cameras--you can add them to your existing vehicle if you're willing to change out the stereo system Living in the mountains, I've learned you cannot see a thing behind you when it's dark and rainy. My Sienna's back up camera is so good, it can see with just the backup lights. I've added back up systems to both my 2001 Audi A6 and my 99' Carrera, using Alpine's 970' unit. While I'm not familiar with all of the selections, I do have opinions on the one's I know, have researched and have actually considered.... The Solstice.... This car is close to useless. It has no storage space. Even if you keep it close to home, if you go to the supermarket, you better not take your lady, or your purchases will all be in her lap. How cars like this get into production is as mysterious as how some idiot politicians get into office.... The 928... This car is out of production for a reason. I've never understood it's styling. It does perform though. It's low value is inversely related to it's high maintenance cost. I remember being offered one for free, running, and I turned it down. I absolutely hated the " looking upward" headlights...how you flash a car ahead of you? The earlier ones, while handling well, were, well, at least " low-go-showboats" No. The Corvette... Everytime I see a C-4, I'm distracted by it's beautiful lines. A sports car should always be a head turner, and the C-4 is just a pleasure to look at. The only reason I don't have one is it's size...it's a bit wide for my mountain roads. But I do love it The Jag... Jaguars always are sexy. I could easily be talked into one. A close friend has one--a soft top V-12-- and he says he always has a smile on his face when he drives it. Definitely undervalued... The "Fiata".... This is the "girlfriend-that-you-always-wondered-what-would-happen-if-...." I love the styling. I drove several and it felt like it an extension of my body. You "wear" it , like a 911. Having owned an "old" 124, it handled similarly--very forgiving--but the engine, instead of a sewing machine, felt like a young tiger. Almost bought one. Has the perfect top--no power, but you can handle it with one hand! The only thing that stopped me was the practicality of not having AWD. When I found I could have a Carrera 4 996 for less than an Abarth, I went for the former. But that Fiat. Still a place in my heart for it. I can't understand why they aren't selling more of them.... The Alfa... Another car I seriously considered. The Spica injection isn't the best, but the car definitely has classic Italian spirit. Throw it into a curve to your heart's content and it' won't scare you...very well balanced. Very sexy, especially if you can lose the stupid bumpers. Another "girlfriend" I wonder about. I can see cloth as an alternative. I can't really see vinyl, except maybe for boats. Am I the only one that remembers having to clean the inside of my BMW windows with ammonia because the vinyl "evaporated" onto them? I remember this in my 65' Mustang too ... View more

Collectable? The Alfa, probably. The rest? I think you're reaching. The Fiata is what I consider an underdog, and it could reach that status, but it's probably a bit too soon. I almost bought one. I felt at home with it in about 2 minutes and felt like I was "wearing it"....a term I usually reserve for my G-series, all manual 911S. It was light in handling, the engine was eager and price was, well, ok. The top is fabulous in it's simplicity (it's manual) and it's a one-arm operation. They say a Fiata is a Miata, but with an Italian engine and suspension. But the "Italian" touch really is magic, and it looks much better than it's sibling. I loved everything about the car except for the fact that it was only 2wd and I happen to live in the mountains. (no, the Abarth's LSD wasn't enough) So I took my $30k budget and bought a low mile 99' 996 Carrera 4 Cabrio.. I actually paid $25K for it, drove it home, then to my indy, and had the usual 996 weak spots all fixed. Total $30k, in February of 2020. Now, a mere year later, it's worth $40K. So there's just one of these right? Some comments....yes, the front end is, well, lacking something....it just doesn't blend with the rest of the rather simple and beautiful line of the rest of the car. I love the interior, sides and rear...it's just that nose that's odd. The name "Belmont" doesn't seem to inspire anything and sounds like some sort of suburb on the East coast. Must have been named by a committee.
