I'll agree with you JB, it's powerful and quick (that IS a sweet power-plant) but after several 'test rides' it's still a bit too 'cruiser' for my liking... I believe I'll keep enjoying my "remarkably exhilarating XR1200 from a decade ago" (DAMN, has it been that long already?!?!?)

My 1965 F-100 Camper Special has served me well over the last 24 years...I saved it from being 'scrapped' in 1996 for $100. It ain't "pretty" (sports the patina of being 55 years in service) but starts and runs every time I need it! The "wish list" is for the 2DR Black Diamond in Anti-Matter Blue w/2.3EB+7SPD, sound deadener, blockheater (anticipating a move from CA to MT) and floor liners..."reasonable" at $38,300 for a capable modern off-road machine (to 'supplement' my stock/unmodified '70 Bronco Wagon!). I'm from the same 'old school' mentality...make it a "better" driver while affording the ability to return to "all-stock" if desired. Upgraded my '65 F-100 to a Pertronix unit (virtually invisible), power steering and power (drum!) brakes from a later F-100 but only a 'purist' would know these bits are "not correct" for a '65.

Well NOT exactly qualified as a car, but we have a lot of fun each August with our H.O.G. chapter buddies at the local Drive-In... The 'cagers' get a big kick out of the 'bikers' rolling up to the show with their chairs strapped on the back! Mine is the Black Hills Gold over Black Onyx Limited (above right).
