Because of CAFE standards the classic American station wagon has become extinct, replaced by the SUV trucks. The modern SUV exists because the CAFE standards ruled out the big wagons of our youth. All sixty and seventy kids remember being driven around in the classic mom mobile. The midsize wagons were great, but I really remember the boat car wagons of the early seventies like the Town and Country and Country Squire. I remember going to the Briggs Cunningham Museum in Newport Beach in the 80's. It was not a big show kind of place, just a building by the airport that had an amazing collection of cars. Back then most cars were not of insane values of today, it was just a personal collection of great cars. I never knew what became of the collection, He died and the collection was sold, it was supposed to have moved to San Diego, but I never found out who or where the collection went. That is the advantage of having duel cams, you can not only advance and retard the timing, but you can also change the overlap to get power at all engine speeds. That is why I liked the HE V6 so much, it had duel overhead cams and would idle at 600 RPM and still redline at 7500 and have a smooth power band. For all the talk there are not enough raw materials on the planet to make enough electric cars for just the US much less the world, and there is not enough electricity production to supply the electric cars they are already making. I have been asking for three years for a flat plane V8 version of the 3.6 V6. Finally an engine that is modern and a leader in technology. GM has been giving revised versions of the Small Block and LS engines for too many years, it is about time that they put the engineering that they have the capacity for to use.
