What a great group of autos. Too bad most will never see the open road. They will sit in someone's garage or go on display. Of course I can't blame the owners. When you spend several million dollars you won't go zipping abound town.

I can't understand why some people will spend way more money for a car that was owned by a movie star. Big deal! The car is the same car regardless who owned it. Especially a Pontiac Firebird.

There are still a lot of people with more money than they know what to do with it. It is sad that these great cars will sit around some where waiting to be sold again. I'm sure they were built to be DRIVEN. But, driving them would get the tires dirty and a few miles on the odometer. The guys that I admire are the ones who RACE these types of cars at the vintage races. Go to Dayonta this Oct. and see million dollar cars running at full speed around the track...as God had intended.

Guess there's a sucker (with more money than brains) born every minute. For that money, give me a hot new Corvette. Or even a classic Corvette.

What about the 1936 Cord, the 1965 Corvette, 1967 Olds Toronado, 1962 Lotus Elan, 1966 Maserati Ghibli, 1968 Ferrari 365 GTB, 1968 Opel GT...what more?

There must be a lot of people willing to throw money away just to own an older car. There are many new cars I would rather buy with what was spent on these. For that $110,00, buy a new C8 which is a much better car. Tagging anything with "Collector Edition" is for suckers.

Please leave your hands off a real Duesenberg. And for Gods sake, don't compare what you build to a real Duesenberg. Go back to building your low riders and stay away from the beautiful classics.

Top of my list is an early Jaguar XKE coupe - it's only the most beautiful car in the world (per Enzo Ferrari). Next is an original (no kit) Shelby Corba with the 289 in blue with white stripes - of course. Lastly is a 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 two door hardtop. It's big, heavy, loaded with goodies and was the first car I owned.

It is a sad fate for these cars that were built to be DRIVEN. Once a car is sold as a "rare collectible", it it doomed to pass from one rich investor to the next and seldom driven just the few miles off the trailer to the auction house.

Chip, stick with turning other classic cars into low-riders. The series 1 XKE is the most beautiful car in the world (even Enzo Ferrari said so). Don't screw with it.
