Good point. There is not a single Mopar of the era that did not have paint runs on the firewall. Today they would never waste that much paint but originality after 50 years still rules. Deviations are largely just excuses.

Consider the cost per day of storing, maintaining, repairing, insuring and the opportunity cost, a lot of expensive classics are cheaper to buy today at what we think are high prices than to have owned and cared for all those years. And admit it, few owners take this kind of care with their vehicles.

Nobody is forcing anything on anyone. EVs are a wonderful alternative for many including eliminating leaky, smelly engines, transmissions, gas tanks, gas lines, oil changes, gas station fillups. Alternatives are good for the hobby.

Are you aware that our government subsidizes the big 3 every year over a billion dollars each? We also subsidize oil companies and keep their transportation routes open and safe with our defense money? Even the war on terror had more to do with oil and middle east interest than terror. 9/11 and all the turmoil following was implemented by Saudi Arabia a huge supplier of our oil. And the air we breathe is incredibly polluted by combustion engines increasing our healthcare costs. Also road taxes only cover about 1/3 of the road costs and the rest of covered by the general funds, increasing our income taxes and this is a huge subsidy to all cars which have been almost exclusively combustion. Free parking almost everywhere is the same subsidy which has been almost exclusively for the combustion autos.

Fascinating project and a perfect example that often the journey is everything, because the destination is just plain not worth it. Even if you absolutely love the monotonous sound of engine exhaust, there is absolutely no way to even tolerate the sound of a rusted out 1984 mini van hitting one 1.5 cylinders which this project has so accurately duplicated. The engine, the fuel tank, the exhaust all work together to invalidate this as a worthy project, however, make this an electric motor conversion or even an engine worthy I am very interested. As it stands $99 is way too much.

They made so many 350's and they were only made for 6 years but it took a decade or so before the Honda 750 made as many with continuous manufacturing. 305's are hot and I've owned both a 305 and a 350 and the 350 is a much better bike. If I remember right though, Steve McQueen owned or raced a 305 and that might say it all. Maybe it's the Steve McQueen phenomenon and the loud pipes that earned motorcyclists their poser reputation.
