In auto mode, the 458’s transmission shifts to seventh gear by 40mph. So you’re definitely out of second gear. As for Ferrari as genital compensation, correlation does not equal causation, and here’s no reliable data set upon which to formulate a credible hypothesis.

The 458 has an auto box with paddles. In automatic, it shifts to 7th gear at 40mph. Plenty of torque but paddles FTW!
