Amazing. Anytime you hear "follow the science" you know exactly which way the conversation is heading. Like there is no acceptable alternative viewpoint. I feel so alone - until I read Jack on this subject. Another great article. Also interesting....all these "no more ICE cars after 20XX" mandates rely on a ramp up of battery production where the raw material availability is a pipe dream. The Rivian R1 battery weighs 1800 lbs with charge time still in hours?! The only real step-change coming in battery energy density seems to be solid state lithium - and some say it still needs a decade more development/cost reduction before its feasible for auto use. Jack, I luv ya buddy, but that VQ comment hit me right where it hurts. I've driven a wide range of things over the years, from screaming bikes that didn't wake up till after 9K, to big V8 torque monsters that didn't need to go over 1500 in normal driving. I am admittedly just emerging from a long drought (kids will do that) and picked up a G35 6MT on the cheap to liven things up a bit.
