At 61, I worry about conversations like this. My gearhead mentor , who has passed would occasionally throw me the keys to his '55 two door post when i was a kid and one time i asked why. He said it would always come back better in someway than when it left and "we need to keep our young people in our hobby or there won't be a hobby." .....value is in the eye of the beholder.  I have no room to talk. RickB, …… How do I break this to you. If your "HEMI'' has four valves per cylinder.....it's not a HEMI. It's a PENT ROOF combustion chamber...… and an advertising campaign from Chrysler. Apparently , real Hemi combustion chambers are dome shaped.... and I was corrected by an old fart standing beside me at a club meet looking at cylinder heads. Physics won't let you put four valves in a dome head , only two.  If you want to see what your cylinder heads look like inside take a look outside your kitchen window at you sons tent in the backyard.  ... I mowed lawns in 1973 to buy my first motorcycle. I was fifteen. My buddy and I ordered two new Suzuki GT 250 Hustlers. They came two in a crate from Japan , end to end , front wheels removed and tucked inside. We ordered a crate. $1380 + Tax each. Dad wouldn't let me open the crate until I got my drivers licence. I passed my exam on my sixteenth birthday. When I drove home in Dads car he was standing in the garage with a crowbar to help me open the crate. He mounted the wheel on the front fork himself. I fueled it, checked the oil level , got on it, and drove it from Truro Nova Scotia to Cape George Point, Nova Scotia. Things you don't forget. About thirty five years ago I was in the middle of finishing a '57 Nomad. A friend of mine who has since passed told me he had sold his '53 Chev custom to a guy in Pennsylvania and asked if I wanted to join him for a road trip to deliver it from Canada. We told the buyer we would come down the same week as the fall Hershey swap meet so I could pick up odds and ends for the Nomad. Long story short, we dropped the '53 off and went to the swap meet. I went to the classic chevy section, got a few things, and then wandered around the fairgrounds. As I walked along I saw a '32 three window sitting on a trailer. It was fly yellow and perfect. It was everything you could ask for in 1985. Three inch chop, blown 454, four speed, jag rear end, black interior.  Asking  price...… $7500.  I didn't buy it but I will tell you , I'm 61 now and I never forgot it.   ... View more
