People said the same thing about hybrid batteries. 20 years later we see that most hybrid batteries last the life of the vehicle. I've had two - sold one at 12 years and one at 10 years and the hybrid batteries worked fine. EV batteries are warrantied for 8 years. That is just the warranty not the useful life.
