The key is to keep them as only black eyes and not get knocked into a coma. Ford is facing some major challenges and they need products like the Bronco and Maverick to generate the needed cash flow they lack for their EV program. The engine issues are just the latest, delays due to chips and the still on going hard top roof issues are still on going. The Bronco should be a cash cow but it has failed to this point. Ford still has to find money to pay back energy department loans as well the loans they took to on their plants when they went broke before GM and Chrysler. The Mustang Mach E is a puzzle. It is not a part of their comprehensive program. Nor is the lighting as Ford is just now building a shared EV platform like the others. They are behind as the vehicles they rushed out will fall behind fast. There is no scale to them. I know all mfgs are struggling in these trying times but Ford leadership just appears to be inconsistent with their plans. The stock has reflected their troubles too. If not for majority owned by the family they could have be at risk of take overs. I am not a Ford man but I do not want them to fail or struggle. We have had enough of that with the American companies. What concerns me is what I have seen under the Ford sheet metal. They are suffering lack of development of things and they are using cheaper things where most buyers do not look. The Ranger was a disappointment. To me. Single piston calipers? No leather seats at $45k, let alone cooling seats like in my truck? I slam the door and no dampening on the metal letting it clang. It is the details that make a difference anymore. There are flaws in my truck too but I already see many being addressed in the coming model. I just hope Ford can find good solid leadership as times are only going to get tougher. I see they are trying to go all sell direct on future EV models. It will be interesting if they can get it to work. The government frowns on much if you do not buy out Franchises.
