I just read of the passing of Bobby Unser. He of course was a major member of the top-tier racing family of Unsers, and possibly was the most popular, due mainly to his great personality and his obvious skills. In the days of Petty, Andretti, Foyt, et al, Bobby showed how he could win in almost any kind of race - in almost any kind of car. What a great talent!
There are some great drivers on many circuits these days, but for those of us fortunate enough to have been around during Bobby's heyday, we probably saw a one-in-a-million championship driver in multiple types of venues.
