Here at Hagerty, we're preparing to celebrate America's sports car, the Corvette. Help us celebrate National Corvette Day on Wednesday, June 30. It was that day in 1953 when the first Corvette rolled off the assembly line in Flint, Michigan. In addition to recognizing the car itself, we want to celebrate all Corvette owners and enthusiasts! Share photos with your Corvette (or any Corvette) here in the comments.
Some cars like my 79 Corvette need to be rescued from a collector. This corvette from 04-18 spent it’s time moving around a warehouse having only 75 miles put on it in all those years. When I bought it everything leaked and the motor had 3 bad cylinders. I spent a lot of time cleaning oil out of the engine bay where I replaced the tired 327ci with a 560hp 383ci giving the her the power to match her good looks. Purists will turn their nose up at the less than desirable 79 but keeping matching numbers just means you own a slow corvette. I love this cars looks and you can’t get into a vette cheaper than the late 70s. People love seeing this car and it’s a blast to drive which for me checks all the boxes for owing a classic car.
