The tradition continues on with Hagerty Dawn Patrol! We'll miss seeing you in person this year for coffee and donuts in Monterey, CA but that won't stop us from celebrating the joy of driving the cars we love. And earning a coveted hat in the process.
Set your alarm for Sunday, 16 August 2020 and take a drive between 6-9 a.m.
Whether this is your 7th hat or your first, with this time honored tradition you'll join the ranks of a magical club of car lovers - and hey, you can always nap later!

Being a car nut and starving young adult seemed to go hand in hand.In 1975 I discovered that by arriving at Pebble Beach at 5AM no one asked for a ticket or credentials. We could walk about freely and shoot rolls of film without people blocking our viewfinder. You could also follow a car from the registration point to it's place on the lawn and listen to it's motor and driveline.
I did this for over 10 years until too many other people caught on, and I could afford a ticket. But it was well worth the early rise and 2 hour drive for this starving young car nut!
Finally made it to the beach. Started journey early this morning before dawn. Furthest this buggy has been driven yet since bringing it back to life. Happy driving everyone!
Good Morning, I have attached a photo of my 89 Porsche 928s4. This is on top of Ortega highway overlooking Lake Elsinore, CA. Just about 7am.
6:00am Pebble Beach – Where is everybody?
Typically, every year on this Sunday I’m out at Laguna Seca for the historic races.
This year I am trying to figure out a decent drive that gets me home in time to see Indy 500 qualifying and the NASCAR Daytona road race. Wait…what?!
With lightning storms over the ocean, I started the morning with my daily driver - a short drive & a quick bath.
Then took my baby for a spin to Laguna Seca and through Carmel Valley.
Everybody take care.
Drove my speedster to Pemaquid Point lighthouse this morning about 30 miles from our cabin . Nice morning for a drive but not like the 4 days I spent driving it from South Carolina to Maine last week .
