BMW Club Schweden summer meetings

During summer the Swedish BMW club use to meet every fortnight at a cafe to kick tyres and socialise. The cars are both new and classic BMW´s. Sometimes you can find exotic cars like a street legal 3.0 CSL "Batmobile". Or a hot rod with a BMW V8. My own car is the gold BMW 323i from 1979. I am the first owner of the car and it is an original unrestored car.IMG_8169.JPGIMG_8171.JPGIMG_8163.JPGIMG_8166.JPGBMW 323i .jpgBlandat 2012 048.JPG2013 053.JPG

I love the gold color, your car looks remarkable. That’s a color that needs to make a comeback. Too bad BMW and the other manufacturers offer such drab colors today.

Thank you, I appreciate your comment!

I agree with you. Many car brands are afraid of colorful car colors. Unfortunately, many premium brands mainly have different shades of silver, black and white that the customer can choose from. I have heard that this is partly due to the fact that many customers care about the car´s resale value and choose discreet colors.

BMW 3.0 CSL was developed from a luxury coupe to participate in the European Touring Car Championship in the early 70s. The main opponent was Porsche. BMW 3.0 CSL got the nickname "Batmobile" due to the large rear wing and wide fenders. The car also participated in long distance racing and the picture is from Watkins Glen 6 hours. In the attached link is a video from Imola race track in Italy. Feel free to enjoy a lap in a BMW 3.0 CSL.

Great video BMW323, thanks. I love the tasteful kidney grilles on the various generations of BMW’s in your photos. The good old days.

BMW kidney grills have been their hallmark for a long time. At the last club meeting several BMW 3 series cars participated. Two E21 (316, 323i) from the late 70s and an E30 (Alpina B6) from the mid 80s. The light gren was the base model 316 with a four-cylinder 1.6 liter engine. My gold-colored 323i was the top of the line model with a fuelinjected six-cylinder 2.3 liter engine. To the right of my car is a white Alpina B6. It is a very modified BMW 3  series car. The modification was carried out by Alpina who were independent of BMW. Among other things, a six-cylinder engine of as much as 3.5 liters  and 261 bhp was fitted.  01d1ac2ee0df1e359e04709753b517fedcd16758c3.jpg01e268dd4843945fa13ba4f80395a8f9dd8541bd47.jpg01ca530d25bd4eed7d7ebb355c3c3ba0761ceccf90.jpg01168f2db51d57a4fc777be066e2d93aa8eb96e131.jpg01e303635eabc6cffd1b60f7f5726f40a5304c00f8.jpg01733f902fd2533152c87f062634a86abd1ab15d68.jpg
