Many parts in our projects are held in by nothing other than a little friction. Those press-fit parts need a little help slipping in and out of their homes when it comes time replace them, and sometimes the off-the-shelf puller is just not the right tool for the job.

Doggone it, the use of a decent WOOD block is clever. I've always gone bonkers trying to find the odd bit of scrap steel to use when I've done this, and ignored the right-sized pieces of hardwood I had left over from other projects.

I'll never do that again!
