Well, I had an Aspen a few years back. Four bucket seats, TV in the back, Hemi engine, could tow 10,000lbs. Nicely luxurious...and BIG. It was great. My daughters' friends all thought they were riding in a limo. That was a nice SUV.

They would have beet Mercedes-Benz in making a real-life Grand Theft Auto tribute SUV—have you *seen* the Maybach GLS—by some years. Alas, it was not meant to be.

When I was in high school, I actually thought the Aspen was cool, and wondered what it would have been like as an actual luxury SUV, and not one that was trying to thread the needle between Buick and Cadillac (and ultimately not meeting the levels of either). The thing felt pretty cheap, especially inside.

The Explorer, Trailblazer, and Durango of these years were all really ugly, all looked to be heavily influenced by minivans. But then the Traverse was around the corner, ain't seen nothing yet.
