Well-preserved, barn-find '57 Cadillac begs to cruise once more

1957 was a banner year for Cadillac Eldorado. The second generation of the flashy model brought more prominent fins and the two-door hardtop Eldorado Seville got a stylish, raked C-pillar. "the most concerning detail appears to be the vinyl top … "

What?! I didn't know that vinyl tops came on 1957 cars.
I had a '57 Sedan de Ville for 22 years, and had done huge amounts of research on the '57 Cadillacs... never once hearing of a vinyl top.
They're that rare.

I just now read that the '56 Seville could be had with one.

Really beautiful car.

Don't detail it!!! It's worth more as a dirty, crusty "barn find".
Some pigeon droppings would no doubt add to the value.

Very cool. The Continental is a looker, too - particularly the color.

I'll take the Caddy and the Lincoln. Both would get a full detail.

A friend once had a "barn find" 1957 Eldo with a padded vinyl top. When the ancient material was removed, there wasn't much of anything left to preserve above the door handles . Caveat emptor. 😉

Pretty sure the Starfire was an Oldsmobile model. Great looking barn finds.
