VW to resurrect Scout, Highlander drops V-6, Hyundai and Rimac still on

Scout, don't see the need for the brand. Doesn't VW have enough brands under it's umbrella. What will a "Scout" have that ties it to the old ones? Nothing besides a name. I get them buying Navistar but Scout is not a brand. Whatever, bring on more electric toasters!

I wish the V6 was not going away from Toyota's mass produced products. I'd rather have the smoother V6 over a turbo 4 or a hybrid 4. With the turbo 4 I doubt the fuel economy is better in the real world. They haven't been better in my experience.

I understand the manufacturers looking for increased mileage by dropping 6 to 4 cylinders , but they should understand some of us will never own a 4 cylinder turbo powered vehicle. I , as a tilt n load tow truck operator, tow so many of these with failed engines of all brands , I will never replace my 6 cylinder 94 F150, 97 Thunderbird, 06 Impala and 16 Sorento with any 4 cylinder no matter how expensive gas gets. It was hard enough letting my 56 Meteor Y block 272 and 89 Corvette go in the past two years. I am over the V8 addiction at this point but that's where it ends.

I've driven Cornbinders since the 80's. The idea of calling a vehicle the VW Scout turns my stomach.

The Settrington Cup was hilarious, especially the play-by-play, and the runner-up trying to do NASCAR style blocking. Great fun for the kids and nice to see them given a fun thing to do at this event.
