Chevy 302 cid (69 Camaro) and Ford 302; Ford and Dodge both made a 360 cid engine - 70s trucks. AMC and Ford made their own 360 and 390 cubic inch engines, Cadillac had a 390 engine. Oldsmobile had a 330 cid engine in mid-1960s while Ford had a gasoline 330 cid engine in a 1965 F-750. Buick also had a 340 cid engine in 1966 and MOPAR had the famous 340. Chevy 307 in late 1960s vehicles and Oldsmobile 307 in 1980-85 Buick Riviera/Oldsmobile Toronado. Chrysler had a 400 cid engine — 76 Charger, Chevy had a small block 400 cid engine - 78 Blazer, Pontiac 400 in 67 GTO and Ford had the 400 cid engine referred to as “Modified” or 400M - 77 F-250. Both Ford and Pontiac made a 428 CID engine. The article discusses the 383 Chrysler engine, but doesn’t mention the 383 Marauder engine by Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln in the late 1950s. Jeep 304 (CJs) and International 304 (Scouts).
That 304 is aaaall AMC.... Distributor's in the front, not behind the carburetor like Chevrolet's. Nice engine, especially in a CJ.

Being 2.5 litre and V-8s are about the only thing those engines, and cars, had in common....
Buick engines were only available in the pre-AMC Kaiser-Jeep era. Your Jeep musta been made before 1970.
