Sledgehammer: When Callaway built a 255-mph C4 Corvette, the world took notice | Hagerty Media

In the year of our Lord 2021, the recipe of strapping two turbochargers onto a Corvette and hunting for 200+ mph is a familiar one. You don't even need to sniff out a speed shop; you can buy a stock C6 or C7 ZR-1 and, once you find a helmet and a legal venue, have everything you need.

That giant AC compressor seems like an odd inclusion on this speed demon. Sadly, no golf clubs or California estate wine were mentioned.

what the C8 SHOULD’VE been;

a daily driver supercar with a MANUAL transmission you can actually maintain without putting a dealership mechanic’s daughter through Vassar;

just try to find a current supercar that can do that without having a Brinks truck on a trailer hitch behind it;

I remember the C4 twin turbos with the intercoolers hanging just above the motor. Thought they were pretty cool. Never saw a sledgehammer in person.
