As a young man I had a paperback book on the greatest races and racers of all time. My favorite story in it was Dennis Jenkins account of his ride with Sterling Moss in the Mille Miglia. He truly made that epic drive come alive! The 300 SLR was indeed a great automobile, but as Dennis put i, it was the "boy behind the wheel" that made it such an incredible race.
Sr. Sterling is gone but I am glad his legendary drive lives on, and so is the vehicle he drove in such a glorious fashion.
