Sir Stirling's legendary 1955 Mille Miglia Mercedes takes one final drive

Sir Stirling Moss lives again-if only for a moment-through his most famous race car and in the city that he called home for more than 60 years.

Wow, the legendary car of the legendary racer, taking a lap of London town. Nice story and great photos.

Completely lost it with the sticker on the cop bike. (Video) Classic!

Very cool to see it running, sad that it will be the last time. Cars are meant to be driven.

As a young man I had a paperback book on the greatest races and racers of all time. My favorite story in it was Dennis Jenkins account of his ride with Sterling Moss in the Mille Miglia. He truly made that epic drive come alive! The 300 SLR was indeed a great automobile, but as Dennis put i, it was the "boy behind the wheel" that made it such an incredible race.
Sr. Sterling is gone but I am glad his legendary drive lives on, and so is the vehicle he drove in such a glorious fashion.
