Long-time Ford tuner and racer Steve Saleen is kicking things off with the Saleen Bronco, a homage to the iconic Parnelli Jones-built Big Oly Bronco, which dominated the Mexican 1000 two years straight with its infamous roof-mounted wing.

Clarifying that PJ drove Big Oly, but Bill Stroppe designed and built it. Stroppe, the Godfather of off-road Bronco racing, also created the ~500 Baja Broncos (1971-75) that are hot collector items today.
The original Oly Bronco was soooo much better. I think the new Bronco is a foot wider.
I remember watching ABC Wide World of Sports following Parnelli Jones across the desert in a plane and the commentator said "Holy cow !! He's going faster than us !!"
