Martin Aveyard's world-class 1:64 models are pure car zen, but he won't sell

In my circle of friends, there's not a single car enthusiast who doesn't have a shelf or drawer of toy cars, whether 1:18-scale models they built themselves or 1:64 Hot Wheels they bought at the grocery store in a blister pack.

The level of detail is off the chart here. 1/18 and 1/24 are easy to get small detail but 1/64 is where it goes to a whole new level of skill much like a watch maker.

This is starting to happen. In Studebaker circles we have heard about it because the need for cores to scan is one of the roadblocks.

We worked with a guy that liked to do big rig models and photo them in settings and they were very good. These are a magnitude better.

I had a stretch of doing models as a kid and was always frustrated with paint finish between the testors paint (stock in my area was so old most of the time) and managing the brush.

It also never failed that you would glue everything perfect on the model but somehow get that one smear on the window.

All I can say is Ryan Anthony Schmidt should be taking photos with these wonderful recreations. Ryan is a young kid with Autism that does phenomenal work. I hope these two connect.
