Making a VW Beetle into a '32 Ford Roadster - Ep. 20 | Hagerty Media

Few cars put a generation of motorists behind the wheel on a scale rivaling that of the VW Beetle. In Chip Foose's view, the ubiquitous People's Car from Germany is much like a 1932 Ford, in that it deserves to be customized to reach its full design potential.

Sure--a LOT of VW Beetles WERE manufactured (over the years). The image which Mr. Foose holds is a rare and highly sought '52 model. Were it to be cut and redesigned into Mr. Foose's imaginary vehicle--it would be worth ? I doubt that studied scrutiny would find Mr. Foose's philosophy of why a car is a viable subject for "redesign" to be reasonable or logical. I applaud Mr. Foose's great designing abilities. Too bad that he didn't help car makers during some of their "sameness years".
