If you are driving all day and are low from your home charge, pull into a rapid charge station, go have a coffee or sandwich.. 200 miles of range in 20 mins. 😉 My vette will not go 200 miles on a tank. Taken in Fredericton NB, next rapid charge station on the highway is an hour (60 miles) away. These charge times will only improve. (and no, my vette isnt electric 😉 )
Climate change isnt fake and CO2 is a known contributor. I am not going to get into an argument about the subject with you because I know you will just be offended. Just look at what every car company in the world is doing, moving to electric because of consumer demand.
You're kidding, right?
2020 Tesla Model 3 Long-Range — annual fuel cost of $500
Annual cost to The OWNER, not the Taxpayer or Utility Rate Payer!
Between Tax Credits, Government Subsidies, 'Free' charging at Regional, County, City, or Utility Charge Stations, the REAL cost is an Eye-Popper!
Power plants wont be eliminated. Where would we get our electricity if they are eliminated? No, I have not read anything about toxic crap in solar panels ..and I am not worried about that because it is quite trivial compared to the toxic crap that is in oil that gets burned every day. The grid where I live handles the load well ..there are but a few places where the electrical grid hasnt kept up with demand all the time. California mostly. But they are upgrading too because consumers dont like brown outs. Of course the cost will be passed along, it is with all the current electrical upgrades as well. And whats this nonsense about needing so many new (renewable, wood) telephone polls and owls having no place to nest? lol
And when one of the 4 fail?
"Goodnight, Mrs Calabash, wherever you are!"
And what, exactly, are the symptoms of impending failure?
"Recyclable...last a decade or more..."
It's tough enough to find a proper receptacle for AA's!
I can hardly wait for EV Battery Recycling Centers to open at the Mall!
And people think it's odd to wait in line, in your car, with a mask on, to get your Covid shot; hold THAT thought!
And, don't forget, America, CFL bulbs last 'forever'...
"And, don't forget, America, CFL bulbs last 'forever'.."
Someone sold you a line of crap if you believe that ..they most certainly dont last forever. But they are more efficient and produce more light for the dollar than incandescent do..
I don't think the comment was directed toward the result of Tesla, but more the way GM operates, regardless, but I won't speak for others, that's just my opinion...
1967, GM builds massive Fremont assembly plant
1984, (rather, 'Orwellian, No?) NUMMI a joint project between, arguably, the two most successful single brands at the time, to build a car NOBODY wants!
2010, NUMMI leaves, Tesla takes over property
As I said before, I will not make you buy one but your democratically elected govt may by 2035. GM is going all electric, Ford similar. There may not be many new gasoline powered cars avail at all by then. Time will tell.
