If the U.S. Army vehicle at Worldwide’s upcoming Auburn sale in June is indeed General George S. Patton’s Dodge WC57 Command Car, it could command big bucks. The filmmaker of “On Any Sunday” is Bruce Brown, not Bill. Prior to that , he made the quintessential surf film, “The Endless Summer.”
tools aren't same as original picture with Patton. No rear emblems......get it right if you expect to capitalize on Gen Patton !
Agreed. Plus the hand rail behind the front seats, looks more robust in the historical photos, than on the re-creation.
you keep saying in video it IS Pattons, but you actually disclaimer you don't know. A lot of hype and false statements in video. What you DON'T know, is what you don't know !
ID Numbers on HOOD are not even correct placement in this REPRODUCTION !
The machine gun is a .30 caliber M1919, not an M-Duce.
It's so difficult to verify, Patton used a number of vehicles during the war, jeeps to halftracks and even light tanks. Good luck trying to pin this down. As an aside, the machine gun mounted on this vehicle is not an M2 .50 cal, it's an M1919 .30 cal. And a question on the markings, in my (long past) Army days, the CO's vehicle was always HQ-6, not HQ-1...maybe they did it differently in WWll.
I think it would depend on whether the sloop was anchored or under sail.
