I purchased a 2001 a few years ago and spent time fixing the rust and repairing the interior, a great truck to cruise in and to go to the hardware store. My silver beauty has 168,000 miles and still makes me smile when I punch that throttle.
Great truck , bought 99 in July 99 and have 235,000 miles , only problem is power windows. Still sweet to drive. By the way the 99/2000 had 3.55 rear axle the later had 3.73.
actually the 4 door (SuperCrew) supercharged HD edition only made 2002-2003. Before that it was a Supercab with normally aspirated Triton 5.4. Except Jay Leno's special edition 2001 which was supercharged and sold at Barrett Jackson for $250,000 a few years ago.
You are correct. I recall the one given to Jay by Ford at the BJ auction. I hope the value of mine will increase some day. It only has 39,000 miles on it and I've been asking $26,000 CDN for it in Canada. There is a good market for them but all high milers which are sold at a lot less.
