I hear you! I had an '88 Fiero GT in Race Red & T-Tops in mid 90's! Car was a Blast & a Half to drive & solid power with the Factory hop'd up rear V-6 (like a race go cart-ha!), only problem I ever had was with 5 spd trans, which finally broke the spindles out & locked the shifter up totally! Had trans replaced with a used one for cheap , drove another year & then sold it for a grand more than I paid for it lol! Fond memories on some serious Beach Hwy Cruising! I now have a 2003 Thunderbird convertible which is a Hoot! I don't see much Love on these ever mentioned either! I just wrote a reply to this Hagerty article also ha! But go figure, Beauty, Fun, and a Classic is in the eye of the beholder huh! I did meet a lot of nice Bikini's with it also lol! : ) Cruise On!
Always thought I wanted one of these. Saw a black/on black/on black one for sale near Felon Falls ON. Looked great. $18K (Cdn) with 75,000 km. Went home and did some research. Glad I did. Weak motor. 3.9V8. Two seater with little trunk space for such a big car. Poor interior quality. Lots of goofy features. I lost interest real quick.
I have a Studebaker. Must admit, our dealer network has kind of faded, but we have some *great* vendors! At least among the "Drivers Club" crowd, it's rare to see any Studebaker sidelined due to parts.
What happens when you nail the six speed manual out of a toll booth as eight lanes go to two might change your mind. Is one of the few coupes that lacks a roof vent that I really like. Just do not expect service from a Chrysler dealer.
