my 1988 Caprice Classic Brougham LS . I've had this car 4 year's. It was all original, until recently. Changed the motor this past winter. People keep telling me to have it painted, but I don't because of it's true patina.
My 1966 Land Rover Series IIA 109" diesel station wagon. I bought this Land Rover in 1978 and I'm the third owner. It was sold new in Green Cove Springs, Florida for $4576 (more than a Corvette!) to a school teacher who traveled the country during the summers. He sold it to a real estate agent in Chattanooga, TN who I bought it from in the fall of 1978. It now has over 400,000 miles on it. It was painted with a semi camouflage paint job over the original limestone when I got it. I stripped it to bare aluminum and had it painted blue/yellow back in 1980. It desperately needs a new paint job again.
In 2011 my wife, son and I vacationed in Las Vegas as a base to explore the surrounding nature scapes. On a day trip into Death Valley we sought ghost towns near Pahrump. We found abandoned buildings, railroad cars and this 50s International pick-up. It appears to be heavy duty and compared to our rust belt (Wisconsin) vintage trucks, it looks appropriate for restoration. jim
Here is my 1973 Ford Country Sedan. It’s wearing most of it’s original paint. The left front fender and the right rear quarter panel was damaged and repaired early in this wagon’s life. The paint is thin on the wagon now, I’ve thought of painting it a few times, but feel like I would be opening a can of worms. I keep it garaged when not in use to preserve it.
1969 F-250. 24k original miles. Factory AC, power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission. It took me a long time to find these options for my wife. I ran across this at a friend's ranch, he was using it to move trailers around, it hadn't been licensed for the road in a long time. The seat still looks like new.
This is my 1985 Dodge Aries wagon, it was pretty neglected when I got it in 2014. I was going to paint it early on, but spent more under the hood then I planned (that happens a lot). The paint on the sides is pretty good, but the top surfaces are pretty much roasted. The wagon is a factory 4 speed wagon, that’s why I saved it.
HI Back in the late 80s I found a 1955 1st series Chevrolet under a tree in Bonners Ferry Idaho...was driven from Napa Valley California when the fellow retired from his fruit farm..Fell in love and hauled all the way back to central Alberta Canada to do a restoration, I did one thing at a time after I got it running nicely , drove for 3 or 4 years as regular transportation...Also found a 55 1st series 3100 Napco 4x4 in Montana and drug that one home to central Alberta as well.....stripped the Napco system out of it and replaced with orig 2wd components....(was going to build a Calif Napco 1/2 ton)..And I really had fun with year of the truck, got personalized plates that said 1955 and had numerous discussions about advance design trucks..........but I really hated the wore out paint on the ol gal and made the big mistake of stripping it down to last nut and bolt......and you know the rest of the story I never had the time or money to put it back together......sold it in pieces locally where it was reassembled in flat black as a Napco and sold on EBay...................But thats not the end of the story....I found a basic restored but bad engine 55 1st series 1300 ...(yep thats right 1300....the Canadian version of the 1/2 ton was 1300 not 3100) in Calgary Ab, that didnt get sold at old car auction cause it ran or not -so bad.... came from Banff Ab......yep hauled it home and kind of got it running.....but is now sitting in shop waiting for its new 261 HO inlne six and 5 spd trans.. ....wait ...not the end of the story.....while suffering the loss of my Calif 3100 cause it was in pieces I bought a 1954 Chevrolet TwoTen station Wagon and drug it home for restoration....not world class but cool driver.....and again a couple years down the road I required money for another project and sold it at auction in Edmonton Ab....ended up in the Reynolds Museum in Wetaskiwin Ab......yep another mistake......but while at a car show in Radium BC a fellow noted my tshirt with a photo of my kids and long gone wagon .......said there were 2 of them up the valley towards Golden BC for sale.....well this fellow had bought these wagons in Creston BC from a friend who had years ago rescued them from the car crusher in Bonners Ferry Idaho.....yep bought both of them but one had no suspention left on frame.....was going to go back and get it but you know how real life gets in the way of these projects.....also collected some really cool stuff for this blue 210 wagon over the next 20 years but decided Im running out of time for all my projects and just recently sold it as well......Ill be happy to be able to reassemble my Ca 55 1st series 1300 to driver stage n call it good.....years n years of good stories and folks in all these Chevys......Thanx Greg
1949 Dodge Wayfarer Business Coupe. All original and in unrestored condition with 41,000 miles. The Dodge sat for 47 year under a make shift shelter and in a storage unit . Last time that the car was on the road was 1963 to be drive to the previous owners high school for a tune up then returned to the storage unit and never moved again. I purchased the car in 2011 from Fargo North Dakota from the gentleman and he said it’s never been out since he put it in (1963). I asked when the picture was taken for the ad in the Auto Buy and he replayed 1963 ! I got concerned thinking that the car was going to be a mouse/rat hotel. We got to the storage unit and he opened the door and my father and I where in shock ! It was covered in dust , boxes and other things on it. But when we got it out it look exactly the same as the picture and still looks the same now other than the tires. It is a joy to drive and see , hear people’s reaction to the car. It’s now driving around Ontario Canada.
