This is me (Kol) in the ChiZler at the Escondido, Ca Cruzin' Grand event. The car is currently owned by the children of Ron "Big Yohns" Johnson, who built and owned it along with two other historic dragsters from the early 1960's.
Many thanks to photographer Darrell Conrad for the sweet photo.
This is getting ready to make a little noise this spring, with Connie's El Camino in the push car position.
This is the recreated 1962 Tommy Ivo "Barnstormer" at the NHRA Museum for a Firday evening of bench racing with "TV" Tommy Ivo and Don "The Snake" Prudhomme. The Barnstormer was built by Ron "Big Yohns" Johnson in 2006 and is currently owned by his children (Ron Johnson Family Racing). The trailer is a restored original, built by Tommy in 1965.
This is at 2019 Nitro Revival at Irwindale with a little bit of dad sitting on top.
This is our dad Ron "Big Yohns" Johnson in his restoration of the 1965 Shubert/Herbert dragster originally raced by Zane Shubert and Chet Herbert. The car is currently owned by the his surviving children (Ron Johnson Family Racing). Thanks to Bob Brown for the photo.
This is two weeks ago with Zane Shubert, the original driver, in the car for a fire up.
We sure miss dad a bunch.
All three cars together at Cruzin Grand, parked next to the MagiCar owned by Bill Pitts. Thanks again to Darrell and Pam Conrad (www.dragstripiron.com) for their awesome photography.
Of course, all three of them are insured by Hagerty 😉
